The cost to have a CleanCut product installed typically costs just 20% of the cost compared to traditional remodeling. Interested? Please click To Find a Local Installer. Please note that installers most often quote the project for both Product & Installation.
Yes, CleanCut products can be installed on any type of tub - porcelain, fiberglass, acrylic, steel and even cast iron. If it is cast iron, we recommend getting professional installation and using a diamond blade.
For full bath functionality while still having a step-through tub, we recommend the Convertible. This is our fastest growing and most versatile product. It comes with a removable center plug that locks on and off in moments, allowing you to transition from step-in shower to full bath. This allows you to keep the future value of the tub and is great for multi-generational homes and changing needs.
We strive to get your product to you as quickly as possible. We ship on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from our Cincinnati warehouse via FedEx Ground to the Continental United States. To view approximate ship times, click here. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, please call our office at 877-882-7837 to discuss options and shipping details.
To determine the correct product size for your tub, please watch our Sizing Video. This video will show you the measurements needed and how to obtain them on your tub. Once you have taken the proper measurements, download the Sizing Guides and compare your measurements to the "Tub Requirements" measurements for the desired product. Please note that the Step comes in 3 different sizes. The Convertible comes in 1 size, which is a Large size.
If you still have sizing questions, please feel free to give our office a call or send a photo with measurements to info@cleancutbath.com and a team member would be happy to assist you further.
Your new step-in height is dependent on the original height of your tub. To find your approximate step-up height with a CleanCut product, first measure the height of your tub as it is now. Then, subtract the template height (which is what you will cut out of your tub) from your original height. For the Step and Convertible products, this would be 8.5 inches. This will give you the new step-through height. This is approximate - the product will overlap the cut out a bit - but will give you a good idea of the new threshold to step over with a CleanCut unit.
For the Ultra-Low, subtract 14 inches from the original tub height. Please note that the Ultra-Low is designed to fit high-profile tubs, and in order for it to work on your tub, the tub must be at least 14.75 inches tall on both the inside and outside of the tub. If your tub does not fit this requirement, we recommend the Step or Convertible product.
As the product manufacturer, CleanCut does not set installation prices. Prices can vary based on a number of factors including tub type, product, etc. and are determined by the independent installer. CleanCut partners with independent installation companies across the United States – to find the closest installer to you, click here and enter in your zip code. From there, you will get a list of company names and numbers that you can call to get a CleanCut kit installed. Please note that an estimate you receive from an independent installer may include both product and installation.
We are able to ship our kits to Alaska and Hawaii - however, some kit contents are unable to be shipped and additional shipping fees may apply. Because of this, we do not allow online orders to be placed when shipped to Hawaii or Alaska. Please call our office at 877-882-7837 for more details and to place your order.
For product kits purchased directly from the CleanCut website (www.cleancutbath.com), the customer may return unused and undamaged product to CleanCut to receive a refund on product purchased (excluding shipping charges) within 90 days from the date of purchase, less a 15% product restocking fee. If within the 90 day return period, CleanCut will provide a return shipping label to Customer to facilitate product return. Please visit our Returns Page to initiate your return and download the return label.
Products that are marked as final sale (18" Stainless Steel Grab Bar, Diteq Diamond Brazed Segmented Blade, Cut Buddie 5" Grinder Shroud and 16.5" Tub Bar) cannot be returned.
For CleanCut products purchased from other vendors or websites, please contact those vendors directly regarding product returns as policies may vary.
Unfortunately, Medicare does not typically pay for this product/installation. However, some customers have been able to have services covered with a doctor’s note, but there is no clear path to ensure the product or service is covered.
Other customers have participated in local state Medicaid waiver programs for financial assistance. You may be able to participate in various Veteran’s programs (HISA Grants, etc.), if you have served in the military.
We recommend contacting Medicare directly for guidance as well as the local Area Agency on Aging as they often have additional information on local and state funding sources.
Technical FAQs
Yes – CleanCut products have been installed on hundreds of cast iron tubs. We do recommend you get professional installation. We also recommend using a Diamond Segmented Blade, which we sell in our online store.
We recommend the following tools be used for cutting the tub: side grinder for entry cuts (if cast iron, use side grinder with diamond blade for all cutting), reciprocating saw for the rest of the cuts. Jigsaw with 2” blade to cut product.
All CleanCut inserts are made of composite polyethylene plastic – an extremely durable, hard plastic.
Yes – the sliding doors will just have to be removed prior to installation (and cannot be put back on). We recommend purchasing a new shower curtain in place of the doors.
Garden tubs have many different styles, and it really depends on the specific tub. If you’d like us to take a closer look at your tub, please send photos and measurements to info@cleancutbath.com. From there we can discuss options!
We do not recommend installing a CleanCut product on a tub with a liner. Why? You might not know what is under the liner. If it is a cast iron tub, the heat from the cut can melt the liner. Also, the liner could become loose from the back and forth movement of the cutting during installation.
Installing on a tub with jets may be possible, but we strongly recommend a professional installer taking a closer look and providing recommendation. If it is possible to install our product on your tub, the installer would need to cap off the jets prior to installation and the jets will no longer be functional. You can find a list of installers in your area at https://stage.cleancutbath.com/find-a-local-installer.
You are able to replace an existing CleanCut Step with a CleanCut Convertible, which includes a center insert that allows you to take a full bath. You will need to remove the entire Step and replace it with the Convertible unit.

Unfortunately, CleanCut products are unable to be installed in clawfoot style bathtubs due to their unique design. Clawfoot tubs have just a single bathtub sidewall (what you step over to get into the tub) and are often elevated on “feet”. CleanCut products are designed to be installed in more traditional-style bathtubs that have a tub rail or wall that is comprised of an inside and outside wall that extends completely to the floor.
